URB-TCP is a Modbus TCP and Ethernet/IP remote expansion adapter that allows you to connect up to 6 I/O modules to a master system. It can be used for:
  • expanding the number of I/Os in a Vision/Unistream controller,
  • expanding the number of I/Os in any other controller with Modbus TCP or Ethernet/IP communication (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Omron).

Supported protocols:

  • Modbus TCP,
  • Modbus UDP,
  • Ethernet/IP,
  • TCP/UDP,
  • HTTP (Web Server).

The use of remote I/O adapters and decentralized systems allows for:

  • reduced cabling costs (instead of running individual wires from the PLC to each sensor or device, a remote I/O island can be used to collect all signals from a distance and transmit them to the PLC with a single Ethernet cable),
  • reduced installation time (fewer wires mean shorter installation time),
  • easy diagnostics and maintenance (remote I/O islands have built-in diagnostic functions, such as monitoring signal status, power, and communication, which streamline troubleshooting),
  • scalability and flexibility (you can easily add more I/O modules or another remote I/O island without changing the entire wiring system),
  • reduced complexity,
  • increased reliability (less electromagnetic interference and greater resistance to mechanical damage).
